Although the Rhynie Gala is not going ahead this year the Tap O’Noth Hill Race will still be on! Race to be held on Sunday the 22nd August 2021.
Pre-entry for the main race can be made online through the link below and there will be NO entries accepted on the day. So please ensure you pre-register. Please note that pre-entry does not cover payment so no financial loss if you enter but cant make the race.
Entry will be £5 for the main race with all proceeds still going towards the Rhynie Gala committee. Registration for payment and number collection will open at 12.15pm and will close at 1.15pm. The race will commence at 1.30pm.
The race will start at the playing fields in the centre of Rhynie. Ample parking can be found on the streets around Rhynie with only a short walk to the start/registration.
UPDATE: Unfortunately we cannot get access through one of the fields for the new route this year so will be running the old route again. But hopefully we will look to plan for the new route next year once the gala is back on.
The old route heads out along the road for 800m before heading right through the fields and then up through the heather to the trig point at the top. Route will be marked accordingly and marshals at various points. Follow the same route back down however just as you get into Rhynie you take a right (then a left shortly after) and come into the playing fields form the opposite side.
This route is 7.5km in length with approx. 390m of ascent.
Usual prizes will be handed out for top 3 plus age categories. Thanks to Tap Forest Garden Farm and Harrier Trail Running for helping provide some of the prizes.
